Ecodesign

We want to challenge brands, when they place jobs with Win-Win Textiles. We always propose better solutions within the brand’s price segment and try to consider many factors. We cannot just run a business through the usual optimization of processes and therefore profits.

In order to succeed in the market a product needs to be at disposal at the right place, at the right time, at a certain price, colour, material and silhouette. However, we also have to design the life cycle and end of life. We must engage more in understanding that any product has a unique history around systemic challenges, which the populations of the world are confronted with. Every garment consists of a unique combination of connections between materials and other resources, people, locations, cultures and nature. And this raises many complex issues on sustainability, social and climatic justice.

One challenge in this respect is to create supply chains, which have full visibility, transparency and where we can trace transactions. Another challenge is that we lack data to fully understand or calculate the differences in the impact of diverse solutions.

We need to include resource efficiency, recyclability, minimal environmental impact, user experience & functionality, durability & longevity, energy efficiency, material selection and the life cycle.

New EU legislation is at our doorstep to push this kind of consciousness through, a level of consciousness, which does not dominate the apparel industry and markets at present. The EU Green Deal and CSRD, CSDDD help push through another mindset and the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation will lead to increased energy efficiency, increased use of recycled materials, improve durability, reuse and repair, reduce the environmental impact during the life cycle of a product and increase the use of recycled packaging.

This EU legislation will also include the Digital Product Passport, which will create more visibility also at consumer level. This should improve data collection and more information to base decisions on, when rolled out in every supply chain.

Win-Win Textiles work in all these areas to prepare brands to comply and we are very interested in opening a dialogue with your brand. In collaboration with you, we can create supply chains, which are focused on ecodesign and we co-create new a better products together.
